QRVolt

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

QRVolt is a free, client-side QR code generator and scanner. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to every page on this website, including the generator, the QR reader, and all informational articles. By using QRVolt you agree to the practices described below.

1. The short version

2. Data we do NOT collect

All QR codes are generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript running on your own device (client-side). The text, URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, contact details, event information, payment links, social media addresses, and any other content you enter into QRVolt are never transmitted to our servers, because the generation happens locally. Specifically, we do not collect or store:

3. Information stored locally on your device

To make the tool convenient, QRVolt saves a small amount of information in your browser's localStorage: your design preferences (colors, size, error-correction level, caption settings) and your cookie-consent choice. This data stays on your device, is under your control at all times, is not readable by us, and disappears permanently when you clear your browser storage for this site.

4. Camera access

The built-in QR reader can use your device's camera to scan codes. When you activate the camera, the video stream is processed locally in real time to locate and decode QR patterns. No frames, images, or decoded content are recorded, stored, or uploaded anywhere. The camera turns off as soon as you press “Stop camera” or leave the page, and the browser will ask for your permission before granting any camera access.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Advertising Serve and personalize ads, frequency capping, ad measurement Google AdSense & partners (after consent)

6. Third-party advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to keep QRVolt free. Where permitted by law and where you have given consent, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. These cookies are set only after you provide consent through our cookie banner.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at YourAdChoices and Your Online Choices (EU). Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent message compliant with Google's EU user consent policy before any advertising cookies are used.

7. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA under GDPR, the UK under UK GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have some or all of the following rights:

Because QRVolt processes almost no personal data on our side, most of these controls live in your browser: clear this site's storage to erase everything associated with you locally, and use the Google Ads Settings link above to control ad personalization. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within statutory time limits.

9. International data transfers

QRVolt itself operates without servers that store your data. However, Google may process advertising-related information in the United States and other countries. Such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into Google's contracts with publishers.

10. Data security

Because QR generation and scanning happen entirely on your device, the most sensitive data (Wi-Fi passwords, contact details, private links) never travels over the network through us. The website itself is served over HTTPS to protect its integrity while loading.

11. Children's privacy

QRVolt is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through this site, please contact us so we can address it.

12. External links

Our pages contain links to third-party websites and articles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies separately.

13. Do Not Track

There is currently no industry-standard response to browser “Do Not Track” signals. QRVolt does not perform behavioral tracking of its own beyond the consent-based advertising described above.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the service or in applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage.

15. Contact
